*** MESSAGE FROM THE PILCHUCK TREE FARM MANAGEMENT ***

The Pilchuck Tree Farm is a private business operated as a working forest. All kinds of activities occur in a working

tree farm and include mechanized timber falling and harvesting, log trucking, road construction, gravelling and grading, brush mowing, firewood harvesting, brush piling and burning, helicopter spraying (usually Sept.), tree planting, plantation brushing, and a host of other activities.

RECREATIONAL VISITORS MUST stay clear of all forestry operations.

It is not the tree farm management’s responsibility to warn the recreational visitor when or where these activities are occurring.

Forestry equipment is frequently noisy. When the visitor hears or observes forestry activity occurring, avoid going into those areas. If a flying helicopter is heard, do not go thru areas signed for spraying or if you are in one, get out quickly as the pilot may not see you. Remember, trucks and equipment on roads have the right-of-way, so stay off or get out of the way quickly.

Cooperation with management is crucial to continuing recreational use of Pilchuck Tree Farm.

Please: Your cooperation is appreciated in the following requests of the Pilchuck Tree Farm management!

Obey ALL signs & trail closures.

Pick up manure, hay, horsehair & garbage at parking lots.

No smoking on the trail.

No loping or trotting on narrow trails.

Donate funds, material & labor for trails.

Report questionable activity 360 474-8736

No use of firearms.

Keep pets under your control.

Be considerate of other users.

Avoid using muddy trails during wet seasons.

No alcohol or illegal substance on the premises.

Victoria Tract trails closed -Nov. – May 1.

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

Because of recent break-ins, we recommend that you do NOT leave valuables in your vehicles while parked in the parking lots. * Park facing downhill in the Bracken Road parking lot to preserve gravel. * The parking lots may be closed during PRA work parties & large organized events. Flyers will be posted. * Brush trails whenever you ride or hike so popular trails don’t get overused. * Encourage your club to give yearly donations and hold work parties. * Leave No Trace whenever you use the trails. *

The PRA works within the guidelines of the Pacific Denkmann Co./Pilchuck Tree Farm, Inc. Because of the many hours of volunteer time and labor on these projects, YOU are able to enjoy these trails for horseback riding, hiking, and biking.
